Go Cougars!

Well, it is settled. I am off to the 'Y' in about 4 days!!! I can't believe it. I really was not planning on going this semester but things have a way of working out if you let them happen. I really decided yesterday that I was going back to BYU and some how everything has fallen into place! If your supposed to do something, things just fall into place (I am not saying its coincidence, I think it is far from that). I am living with two of my good friends that I went to New Zealand with. Its crazy how much that "accidentally" worked out. I am taking some good classes and applying for the Photography program. Its really a long shot for me to get in considering they only accept 10 new people a semester, but I am going to try!

I am really excited to get busy in school. Is is crazy that I love to learn!?

I love you all.

God is Great.

Turtle Lake (1 of 10,000)

Talk about a perfect day to take pictures. Me and Megan had a hay day with this lighting. We went up to turtle lake after church to read, talk and take pictures. It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon. I love a good cloudy day.

Here it is!!!! The finished product! In living color!

Jared, thinking he was being sneaky, took this picture of me playing the guitar that Bruce bought for me. I have really loved learning to play. I have A LOT to learn but i figure its never to late to start. My friend Megan's Grandpa is 80 years old and she is teaching him to play the guitar. Talk about ambition.

Here is the Mohr's house in Color. I have one on an earlier post of this picture in B & W. Which is better? I think i might like the color better because the sky is very blue and the red door is sweet.

Bruce

Many of you have heard about Bruce. He is a special guy in both mine and my friend Megan's lives. He is our music teacher! Megan and I take lessons from him once a week and he makes us play with his band. Its a great time. This photo is of Megan taking a photo of Bruce playing my guitar (a gift from papa Bruce).

Lake, lake, everywhere a lake.

Here I am with 3 of my friends from church on Lake Harriet. Its such a nice lake. We went Sculling. Sculling really is so relaxing. When I save up enough money I would love to buy myself sculling equipment. Its a great work out plus very therapeutic.

O' Canada

O' Canada! These are a few pictures I took from our trip to Canada this last week. It was a lot of fun and a lot of water. We went cliff jumping, snorkeling, wake boarding, beaching, and i spent a lot of personal time reading and taking pictures in between.
This is Kaitlyn (my sister) , Jerry (my step dad) and the family favorite (my dog Toby). We went snorkeling at trout lake- its a lake in a lake. make sense? Yeah me neither.
This is my cute mom. We were walking to trout lake. Kaitlyn forgot to bring shoes on the boat so my sweet as sugar mom sacrificed her shoes and wore the water boots instead.
This is my favorite Kaitlyn getting ready to go snorkeling.
Then here is a cute little place by our lodge. I liked it. Thats all. And I liked the power lines (i think they add a cool dynamic to the picture:)).

Cafe Terrace at Night

Drum role please! By request... I am posting a picture of the painting I have been working on! But its not finished in this picture and since its a black and white photo its not as neat. So I will post this for the time being. I will soon post a color photo of the finished product. Oh and by the way...for those of you who don't realize it...this is a painting by Van Gogh called 'Cafe Terrace at Night'. I was paid to paint this. Its a rough life when you get paid to do something you love! It was most surely a challenge though. Here is the thing, Van Gogh has a bit of a messy style. So to try and duplicate the imperfections that made this a great painting was very difficult! I am not Van Gogh. Thats for certain:).

The Minnesota Bridge

This weekend my friends and family all happened to be out of town so I had some time by myself. So off I went around Lino Lakes with the companionship of my dog and my 35mm camera. I really like these three pics. I feel like I am always looking to go to a far away foreign land to find beauty when it is right here at home. I love Minnesota- especially the people.

This last week my mom and I were eating at Axel's Bonfire when we saw on the news a video of the 35W bridge collapsing. It was 5 minutes after it had happened so there weren't any emergency professionals to the scene yet. My heart sunk when I realized what bridge it was. Every where I looked people were on their phones, checking on loved ones.

The Minnesota people have really impressed me with the love they have shown for their fellow man during this tragic time. It seems that so many people went down on their own to give food and money donations. There were also many many many people who rushed to the scene immediately and tried to help while at the same time risking their own safety. I love Minnesotans.

Down Town White Bear

Well, since I finished Harry Potter (what a bitter sweet moment, more bitter that its over but..ohw well) I found myself searching for something new to keep me occupied. So one evening to stop stressing about that dang Harry guy... Me and Megan decided to take a little trip to down town White Bear with my 35mm camera. It ended up turning out really cool! There is something classic about a picture taken with real film. Right? Right.

Arts and Crafts at the Sandbar

The sun shining or' us and the water like glass,
Kayaking anyone? Who's up for a blast?!
We will have arts and crafts on the sandbar..
Oh wait! Slow down! It's not THAT far!
On a beautiful Minnesotain evening Caryn, Megan and Jared and I decided it was a good day for kayaking. So we went down to the rental shop on White Bear Lake. Man it was so fun.
